FIRST LEG OF 2012 IS A WRAP

That's it. Five months, 19 concerts and 4 radio sessions into this year and we're taking a short break. Almost a month and a half to make sure we pass our exams (shit, there really is no way to make that sound cool). We're pretty f***ing proud of what we've achieved this year, we met some new friends and get to keep a lot of good memories. Thanks to everyone who's been around, we really - really! - appreciate your support. Big love!

We'll be back on stage July 1st @ Dijlefeesten, then we're taking some time to work on new stuff and to rethink the current songs. We have 5 awesome festival slots booked for this summer, where we should be giving some previews of new material. Hope to see you there!

September is studio time but also, of course, the last leg of the festival season as well as the kick-off of the club season. Playing with Blood Beach and all that, maybe even doing some tiny adventures abroad. We'll see.

As you can tell, we won't be taking it easy. A harder, better, fresher, stronger Sky Castles is coming to you in the next couple of months!

All that said, we conclude with this:
We're sad to say goodbye to Cindy Mannens (backing vox). Time-related issues and different priorities are the reasons why she decided to call it a day. It goes without saying that we're forever grateful for all her hard work and wish her all the best. We're taking auditions as we speak, a new backing singer should be found pretty soon.

The crazy part of 2k12 was just kicked off: we hit Kandarock?! & Gimme Shelter, a lot of big stuff is coming up now: Schoolrock, AB, Trix, Mano Mundo, ...

'CAMP, NOT KITSCH EP' CD-RELEASE, AIRPLAY, NEW RECORDINGS, MEET OUR ENGINEERS

News news news: we'll be bringing cd-copies of our 'Camp, not Kitsch EP' to our gigs from april onwards! We haven't scheduled a release date yet, but we'll keep you posted. We won't be taking orders - cd's will be for sale at gigs and through band members.

We're proud, honored and happy to announce that Ghent's student/city radio UrGent.fm will add two of our tracks (!) to their playlist: 'Camp, not Kitsch' and 'Lovesick', the latter also getting airplay on FM Brussel as of next week.

Then, on a less formal note: the plans for new recordings are getting more concrete. We'll be doing some exciting sessions very, very soon and we're planning the professional stuff around the end of the summer.

Last but certainly not least: meet our sound/light engineers! Koen Mees & Jurgen Michiels will be on the road with us from now on. They have their own little sound equipment company/recording studio: www.productiehuisblacksnow.tk

We'll be surfin' the airwaves on monday evening, during Rue de Flandre/Vlaamse Steenweg.

RUPELROCKRALLY WINNERS!

Last saturday night was a night to remember: a unanymous jury of professionals selected us as Rupelrockrally's n° 1 AND Mano Mundo picked us to open the festival on the 12th of may! Prizes: gigs at Casa Blanca Festival, Kandarock?! and Ja'Live, two days of recording @ Rockstar Recordings, 3 months of free rehearsals in Boom and a photoshoot with Studio Brussel's Joris 'Jokko' Bulckens.

As if last week wasn't good enough already, we were also selected for 4AD's Band in Residence Contest Final in Diksmuide and Red Rock Rally in Bruges.
